Stabilizer (cyanuric acid) is used to protect chlorine from being broken down by sunlight. The recommended range for proper stabilization is 40-70ppm cyanuric acid. Too low of a stabilizer level generally results in an over consumption of chlorine or the inability to maintain a chlorine residual. This can lead to unsanitary water and algae growth. Read more
